Number Cruncher Game

Number Cruncher – A Flick Labs Project

Follow new releases of Number Cruncher on the Number Cruncher Blog and on Twitter or watch the demo. Number crunching has never been more fun!  In what is a cross between Sudoku and Tetris, the object is to generate as many sequences of numbers as possible within the allotted time. A sequence consists of any numbers that differ by one or zero, and can also wrap between one and nine. As numbers are removed from the grid, new numbers fall into place.   Increase your high score by creating a very large sequence that also contains as many bonus tiles as possible.

Writing games is not our core business, but it is an excellent way to learn the outside capabilities of the different mobile platforms on the market. This derivative of an internal project started life as a Flick Labs project to test our ability to create apps for every model of Blackberry device, iPhone, Android, and Windows Mobile smartphone. One thing led to another and when we published Number Cruncher to the Blackberry store it rapidly climbed to become the most popular game in its category, and is one of the 100 most popular apps. By May 1, 2010 Number Cruncher was the most highly rated free game in the entire BlackBerry App Store, based on more than 150 glowing reviews. Don't take our word for it… you can see what everyone else is saying here. You can also see the #1 BlackBerry site's review of the project here.
