Flick Software to Acquire Russoft
Ottawa, ON (March 25th 2008) – Flick Software will acquire Russoft a leading embedded software solutions company. Russoft has developed one of the leading handheld gaming emulators and dozens of embedded enterprise testing solutions.
Russoft is a full solution design development and deployment company that has been growing since 2002.
“With the increased demand for mobile outsourced solutions and skilled resources we decided that bringing Russoft under Flick Software will not only help boost sales through a shared customer base but also greatly improve our ability to deliver on ever increasingly complex solutions.” said Jason Flick. “This acquisition also brings skills to Flick Software that would have taken a substantial amount of time to build up internally.”
The primary mission of Flick Software will still be to offer the best outsourced mobile experience to it’s growing customer base, and the acquisition will help boost Flick Software’s Mobile Interactive Guide and allow for new product launches in 2009.
Jason said he is impressed by the experience of the Russoft team. "Russoft is not only one of the leaders in a new wave of embedded development; it is also an innovator in cross-platform development and custom test and measurement suites with proven expertise in multiple Smartphone operating systems such as Windows Mobile, Brew, Palm, and Symbian”. The test and measurement solutions were previously marketed through Testforce Systems inc.
Flick Software has been a leader in mobile solutions for over 6 years and has seen the handheld market grow from a two horse race (Palm and Windows Mobile) to one of the biggest software growth areas. In 2008 we are now entering a heated battle with almost a dozen major competitors vying for the platform of choice, the most recent contenders being Google’s new android and Apple’s iPhone platform, the latter having a 1-2 year lead on all other platforms. This recent acquisition allows Flick to capitalize on this emerging market.
